Comments:

Scientific Paranormal investigated the Ivoryton Playhouse, a historical community center turned theater. The Ivoryton Playhouse was built in the early 1900’s, but actually became a theater in the 1930’s. Its original purpose was an employee recreational hall for the Comstock Cheney factory. Before being demolished, a man named Milton Stiefel decided to convert the building into a theater. The Playhouse gained high fame through many famous actors and actresses that passed through its doors. Having many different owners and companies, the Ivortyon Playhouse Foundation eventually came to own the property where it continues to host new productions today. With new renovations on the property, the owners believed that paranormal activity may be occurring with the multiple occurrences of a female apparition in the area.

The Scientific Paranormal team covered the playhouse on both its levels with attached equipment in key hotspot locations. Some of the claims indicate a noises and sounds coming from the balcony and stage areas, with the most significant occurrences on the bottom level changing area's. Some of these claims range from noises to full apparitions. Due to some large area's of this building from the balcony to the stage, we decided to test out a laser grid unit to more easily identify any visual disturbances in its range.

We found some significant high EMF in key locations around the Playhouse, most notably near a few of the areas where unusual feelings of a presence being there were reported. Other area's had significant high base EMF ratings. No unusual high EMF's were found that we could not locate a plausible source for them

We did find one particular interesting audio clip in an area where an apparition was seen, whereby an investigator asks to modify the light on a laser grid, a drawn out "hello" may be heard, but it is too low quality to label it paranormal. Beyond that, we did find many occurrences of knocking from heating pipes and wind that occurred in unique patterns, which can be misinterpreted as walking or intelligent knocking. Also a nearby popular restaurant created some noise contamination that made it seem like there were nearby voices.

Ultimately, the Scientific Paranormal team did not find any concrete evidence that the Playhouse had significant paranormal activity. There were some natural explanations for some of the claims, but none to support full body apparitions. The Playhouse is an amazing building filled with local historical culture that anyone would be impressed when stopping by to view a show.
