Investigation - Walnut Street Home
Location: Baldwinsville, NY
Evidence Found:
"Children Hurry"

Comments: A case in Baldwinsville, NY was brought to our attention by the homeowner, who was distraught by multiple claims including disturbing voices telling her to “move”. On 10/16/09 our team embarked on the investigation to try to bring peace to the homeowner and attempt to scientifically explain the occurrences. The claims that were presented to us included object movement, noises from objects, disembodied voices, impressions left on her bed, apparitions and shadows. Our group prides ourselves on our high standards of debunking and with that in mind we started the investigation.

The first claim was that of objects moving and noises that occurred from objects being moved. We could not find any evidence to support or refute the claims. One particular claim was of the water faucet spraying the home owner while the faucet was on. This could be explained by a malfunction within the mechanism itself, for example the handle could have been stuck from its last use.

The second claim was of a disembodied voice that was heard by a resident that had said “move”. Our team was able to find some evidence to support this claim, yet not enough. We were able to catch an audio clip, known as an EVP, which may have said “Children Hurry”. This voice was of a husky male which differed from the voice reported to us as a child’s voice that said “move”. However, the home carried voices well throughout, therefore voices heard could possibly, though not necessarily, be caused by another person in the home.

Next we had the claim of the impressions left on the bed in the master bedroom. Throughout the house we had multiple IR cameras, including the master bedroom, in attempt to capture these claims. After reviewing the camera recordings we had no evidence to support or refute this. Although there is a possible natural explanation to these occurrences such as forceful air pressure can create the illusion of covers moving and/ or someone sitting down on a bed.

The next claim was that the son saw an apparition of an old woman walking in the hallway on the second floor. Upon review of this claim and hearing the first-hand account of the sighting of the apparition, The Scientific Paranormal team concluded that this activity had most likely been natural. As mentioned above, we had multiple IR cameras in place and captured no evidence to support or refute this claim. The claim mainly stemmed from the son having a dream of an old woman, whom he had never met. After which he then woke and claimed to have seen her walking down the hall. Right after waking, people are often in a half-awake dream-like state. This psychological effect can produce vivid sounds, sights and even smells as to which a person can believe they are awake to witness.

Lastly, the homeowner had a claim that she felt the presence of a black shadow standing over her while she was in bed. We concluded that this was a natural occurrence more than a paranormal one after analysis. A few things could have contributed to this such as in the previous claim of waking up then experiencing the feeling of the presence. Or a nearby electronic giving off high Electro-Magnetic Frequency (EMF) may have produced a feeling of paranoia contributing to the shadow feeling. No high EMF’s were discovered occurring from the electrical wiring, but it is possible that an electronic may have been moved.

During the investigation our team had one personal experience where three of our investigators witnessed a red light. The light however was not captured on still photo nor was captured on the DVR system which could ultimately just have been dust. Overall, the team was able to find natural explanations for a wide variety of the claims. Object movements, sounds and even visual phenomena all had plausible counterparts to them. Our team feels we were able to lie to rest most of the claims standing by our views of debunking in a scientific aspect.
