Comments: The SP team had the pleasure of being invited to work with a fellow TAPS Family member; South Jersey Ghost Research, on a historic case at Fort Ticonderoga. The Fort itself had an incredibly rich history that seemed to be completely preserved in the restoration of the current state it was in. The Fort was built in the 18th century by the French, supposedly constructed between 1754 and 1757 during the French and Indian War. The Fort was an important strategic point protecting the river and Lake Champlain/Lake George, especially from the British. In 1758 during the Battle of Carillion, over 4000 French soldiers went against the odds and defended against an attack of 16,000 British forces. However, luck was not with them a year later when in 1759 the British returned yet again and drove the French from the Fort. Later in its history, the Fort was used in the Revolutionary War when the American's were able to use the Fort against the British, but yet fell to the same strategy that drove the French away. The British held the fort until 1781 when it eventually became dilapidated and unusable. However, it has been restored and renovated and is now a popular tourist attraction and museum.

The Fort itself was home to countless paranormal claims by several staff members and patrons. Claims between seeing apparitions of soldiers (most notable British as they were seen wearing a red uniform) in parts of the barracks and through windows were seen, including hearing horses down near the French lines of trenches dug during the battles. Various balls of light and other unexplained phenomena were seen in the main barracks areas as well.

The fort was covered from top to bottom with an impressive combination of equipment from both Family teams. Multiple teams covered specific areas and were interchanged to cover the most ground. For the SP teams, we started our investigation on the soldiers quarters. There were several claims of footsteps being heard on a level above where no one was supposed to be situated. Our audios and personal experiences did not pick up any footstep like movements, but we did discover that opening certain doors created an extremely loud sound that could be mistaken for footsteps on below levels, as sound was not blocked out between floors. That being said, we did get a wide variety of unexplained audio clips, the most notable of which occurred on the 3rd floor soldiers quarters. The clip contains the voice of an unknown female which appears to be speaking in a French accent and the language is French. It may appear to say "ah il y a sa louche" (There is her ladle), or "ah il y a salissure", (There is a stain). Either case, this was an incredible find as no females were talking at that time and they do not know French. Other audios were discovered around the Fort, which included a male moan near the 1st floor dormitories, a possible "Yes Sir" clip near the Casemate, a female voice that appears to say "I'm Ok" in the general's quarters, and a male "No" in the same location.

Other locations also proved to be quite interesting. Claims of odd feelings and experiences in the bakery shaft, which was covered in wood, also had some interesting experiences with an EMF that appeared to respond when we began saying the word "Bread" in French. Other EMF activity appeared on the 1st floor quarters when we placed two KII meters in different areas, but one after the other lit up full charge, as if a wave of electromagnetism energy passed through both.

Overall the Fort contained a wealth of paranormal activity in addition to its historical significance. Clearly one of the most interesting investigations that we ever have completed, the SP team was extremely thankful for the opportunity to investigate this area and we hope to return to assist at a later date.
