Investigation - Fon Clair Street Home
Date: 1/16/09
Location: Johnstown, NY
Evidence Found: None.

Comments: The team was called in to investigate a home in Johnstown NY. The town is actually a historical site on the map, as it was the location of the last revolutionary war battle in American history. The home itself contained no record or position within this battle, but the close proximity made the trip worthwhile to attend. The activity within the home seemed to be centered around the client. The basic activity was a brief shadow figure seen, some object movements relating to makeup and bathroom items, as well as noises/voices heard when sleeping.

Immediately beginning in the investigation, our team noticed something dramatically off; our EMF and KII meters were acting extremely unusual. The readouts gave around a 1.5-2.0 milligauus reading (100-200% above normal). Immediately concerned with a source or possibly malfunction with the equipment, our team used multiple devices and checked multiple sources. All readouts came to the same conclusion with no source found. This reading was exact through every corner of the home; through the basement, the 1st floor, as well as the 2nd floor. We concluded that the base EMF of the home had to be around 2.0 milligauus, which (while not immediately dangerously high), is significantly higher than an Moderate home. The exact source or reason behind why the EMF base was so high remains a mystery. Possibly sources could include, but not limited to; faulty electrical wires, underground electrical wires near home, running river under home, etc. High EMF can yield some common side effects such as paranoia, nausea, headaches, rashes, even hallucinations.

Our team did a full analysis on each area of the home with all equipment in order to locate the source of the paranormal activity claims. Our team did not capture anything paranormal visual or audible and had no personal experiences within the home. Some of the claims, such as the voices heard when sleeping, were attributed to both a phenomena known as hypnologic hallucination as well as the high EMF bolstering this effect. When sleeping, a person may experience strong visual or audible stimuli which may seem very real to the individual while they are in their half awake and half dream state. EMF may cause hallucinogenic properties, which can be enhanced by this dream-like state. A combination may yield a natural answer to this. A visual shadow like person seen was also most likely a shadow-object illusion which was created on the placement of the person seeing the objects and the lighting of the area.

Through all of this, our team concluded that there is most likely nothing paranormal in nature in this area. However, the high EMF was extremely perplexing and more research into the source of this should be investigated. Paranormal activity may or may not be fueled by this source, as EMF is a natural source of energy. However, for the purposes of our investigation, the home is most likely a natural site.
